What does it mean to be #NaturallyBrave? In celebration of the launch of Australia's first #NaturallySugarFree soft drinks, Nexba is sharing a series of Naturally Brave stories from the brave people who keep our beaches safe.
Our ninth story comes from Hugo Leeling - Bronte SLSC
Hugo Leeling's Naturally Brave Story
Hugo was introduced to Bronte SLSC Nippers at age 5 and continued his post with the club to become the patrolling member he currently is today at age 14. Hugo loves being outdoors and in the water, he is surrounded by what he describes as a supportive group of mates that makes it easy to give back so much to the community. Nippers is a proud tradition for many Australians living by the beach and for Hugo it is no different; a proud moment of his was when he won gold at a Cronulla Nipper Carnival in the board relay when he was 12 years of age, surrounded by the support of his team mates, club and family. This team spirit has carried through to the responsibility of patrolling for Hugo as he credits his team with being naturally brave as they are not thinking about themselves when on patrol; their concern is that of others and they will be ready and willing, whatever the situtation.
