What does it mean to be #NaturallyBrave? In celebration of the launch of Australia's first #NaturallySugarFree soft drinks, Nexba is sharing a series of Naturally Brave stories from the brave people who keep our beaches safe.
Our fifth story comes from Denver Brown - Wamberal SLSC Life Saver
Denver Brown's Naturally Brave Story
Being Naturally Brave doesn’t end when the beach is closed or a patrol shift is over for our surf life savers. Such was the case for Wamberal SLSC life saver Denver Brown, who was alerted to 2 young girls caught in a dangerous rip whilst providing water safety lessons for the Wamberal SLSC nippers. With his rescue board already in hand, Denver immediately paddled out to where the two swimmers were and noticed two males attempting to keep the distressed swimmers afloat. Denver brought one of the female swimmers back safely back to shore and then immediately went back out to pick up the second female swimmer. Were it not for the naturally brave efforts of the two males who assisted, as well as the quick actions of Denver, the two female swimmers might not have been so fortunate. An amazing effort from Denver that saw him awarded the honour of Rescue of the Month.
