This Blueberry and Basil Gin and Tonic is like a classic G&T, only better. The infusion of fresh blueberries adds a subtle sweet flavour which is offset by the peppery taste of basil. It also looks a lil’ bit fancy, but can be whipped up in less than a minute. Our kind of cocktail!

You may have heard the scary facts about tonic water… that is, that the average tonic contains 7 teaspoons of sugar per bottle and about 100 calories. Yep, you heard that right! As you can imagine, if you have a few G&T’s in a night, the sugar content (and calories) really stack up.
Luckily, our clever Nexba team set out to create a solution to this problem, by developing a blend which has the same great tangy tonic flavour we love without the sugar.
We’ve taken great care to match the natural sugar curve taste using our signature blend of naturally sugar-free ingredients. The secret is Nexba - our incredible natural sweetener blend which is made using erythritol and stevia. It took us 6 years to perfect this blend that tastes super sweet, contains zero calories and nothing artificial. Pretty magical, right?
We recommend choosing a premium quality craft gin to pair with our Nexba tonic. We also recommend a straight gin, rather than a flavoured, to keep the sugar content at bay.
If you’re a G&T lover and let’s face it, with the current lockdown restrictions in place, they’ll quite likely become a bigger part of our weekly routine… check out 8 low carb gin & tonic recipes.
You’ll be surprised by just how many ways you can spin this classic cocktail, from fruity flavours like grapefruit and pineapple to rich textures like creamy coconut and spicy mango.
Blueberries have been the subject of considerable research over recent years, with significant health benefits identified.
One exciting discovery is the potential for blueberries to have a favourable influence on memory and cognitive function, possibly slowing age-related cognitive decline.
Like other berries, the anti-oxidant components are the most important contributors to the overall benefit of these nutrient-packed blueberries, and importantly, these qualities are largely retained after freezing. This means we can have access to this nutrient boost all year round. Organic berries have higher levels of antioxidant compounds.
Other benefits of anti-oxidants include protection of DNA, improved cardiovascular and eye health, protection against a number of cancers and improved blood sugar regulation.
