Believe it or not, kombucha has actually been around for thousands of years. Legend has it that kombucha originated in China in 200 B.C.E during the Qin Dynasty. It’s said that Emperor Qin Shi Huangdi was the first to make the fermented tea drink, around the same time the Great Wall of China was being constructed!
While it’s come a long way since then, the way kombucha is made is essentially the same. It’s a fermented drink made with tea, sugar, bacteria and yeast. It may not sound too appetising but trust us, it works!
